Arrival to the Juan Santamaria Airport. A representative from Costa Rican Trails will meet you at the airport to take you to hotel  in San Jose.

After breakfast, early morning departure for Tortuguero. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Braulio Carrillo National Park and a boat trip to the canals of Tortuguero.

Upon arrival to Laguna Lodge enjoy a welcome cocktail and lunch. The lodge will then schedule a visit to the Turtle Museum and town of Tortuguero.
Afternoon free to relax in the pool or take advantage of the hiking trails.
In the evening, after a delicious meal, you will relax along the canal's edge with a cocktail and enjoy the night sounds of the jungle.

During the day enjoy scheduled boat tours to the small canals for wildlife observation. A jungle adventure of a lifetime! Think Amazon, only on a smaller scale. A beautiful example of the Costa Rican country site will be found along the way, cattle farms and agriculture, also the chance to see some birds as oropendolas and toucans. After that you have to walk five hundred meters into the forest to get to the waterfall, which is 70 meters high. At the base of the waterfall there is a “natural pool” where we can swim in the fresh water of La Fortuna river for about one hour.

The length of the tour is approximately four hours; from La Fortuna we have to go 5.5 kilometers to the southeast. We spend 1.5 hours to get to the rest site of the horses.
 

Arenal Volcano Hike & Ecotermales Hot Springs
Late afternoon visit to the trails of El Silencio and the volcanic thermal mineral pools at  Ecotermales Hot Springs, where you can enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak and enjoy of a delicious dinner.

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is one of the most diverse and rich tropical cloud forests in the New World and home to the resplendent Quetzal and the rare bell bird. Monteverde is not only interesting for the Cloud Forest Reserve’s inhabitants, but also for its founders, the Quakers. Trapp Family Lodge will be your home-base for two nights. After check-in, feel free to explore your new surroundings.

In the morning you will hike through the well-marked-trails, waterfalls, rivers, and the observation area of the park. If you are lucky you might spot a "Quetzal", one of the most beautiful birds in the world. You will also see an amazing variety of flora and fauna in this tour.

Afternoon visit to the Sky Zipline & Tram facilities. The Sky Trek is a system of seven platforms suspended above the ground in the midst of tree boughs. Zip lines attached from one platform to another will allow you to slide with the use of special equipment. In Sky Tram explore the world famous Cloud Forest of Monteverde in a 5,249 feet ride that would lead you up to Costa Rica Continental Divide.

Transfer to the border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua, Peñas Blancas. Then a continue to Granada for your first night in Nicaragua (private transfers).

Founded in 1524, Granada is the oldest colonial city on the Isthmus; that heritage adds to the charm and character of the place today. Today's Granada is a delightful town, it's streets are lined with Spanish-style houses with large wooden doors opening onto cool interior patios. A wonderful walking city, although some buildings appear to be on the verge of collapse, many others have been beautifully renovated and now function as restaurant, hotel, or residential home. A great way to get a nice overview of the city is by ascending the towers of the La Merced church.

Walk around the city on your own and enjoy delicious dinner at  “La Calzada”.

Start your journey with a visit to  Masaya Volcano,an active and dormant smoking crater. Visitors can peek over the edge at the Masaya Volcano, and look into the impressive crater, which is continuously emitting smoke and sulfur gases. From this central crater it is possible to start hiking to other craters or viewpoints.

Then our driver will take you to the Arts Market where will have the opportunity to admire ceramics, woodcrafts, hammocks and Jewelry, Cigars, leather work & more! Before returning to the hotel, enjoy a scenic town of nurseries & flowers panoramic view of Apoyo crater lake.

Take an unforgettable journey to one of the most beautiful places of Nicaragua. The island measures 276 square kilometers and it houses two majestic volcanoes connected through a small strip of land. Ometepe Island, the biggest island of the world on a fresh water lake.

The excursion starts by heading towards the southern part of the country, getting to San Jorge's port where we will take a ferry that will take us to Ometepe, where you will be able to enjoy spectacular views and one of the most impressive ones of all Nicaragua. We will visit places like the Green Puddle's lagoon, Santo Domingo beach and “Ojo de Agua” water springs.

With its 1610 meters, volcano Concepción is the higher and more prominent volcano on the island of Ometepe. The Concepción is a near perfect cone-shaped Volcano. During the challenging hike you will be able to see a great variety of plants and birds and enjoy some breathtaking views.

But be aware, this volcano is active! Smoke is coming out of its crater, and there are other fumaroles on the volcano’s slope as well. Do you dare to climb the Concepción? You’ll need a lot of energy, stamina, and you should be in good condition to climb the Concepción. It is one of the toughest climbs in Nicaragua.

Time to relax on the beach! After breakfast, take the ferry transfer back Peñas Blancas (Costa Rica border). Continue to Hermosa Beach in Guanacaste.
 

While Hermosa Beach maintains an overall laidback atmosphere, it has grown as an epicenter of ongoing development. The town of Hermosa runs from north to south along its beachfront, becoming more sparsely populated toward the south. 

Services in town are abundant, offering excellent shopping, food, bars, and tourist activities. The coast of Hermosa Beach is renowned for its outstanding marine fauna, and visitors can enjoy this ocean life through activities such as snorkeling, sport fishing, and Scuba Diving.
